Start your Journey into Mechanical Systems

2024 Classes Starting Soon!

Season 1: The Mechanics of Automobiles: Understanding How Cars Work

Fuel your passion for automotive engineering. Delve into the fascinating world of vehicles, exploring their intricate systems from engines and transmissions to suspensions and exhausts. Discover the science behind what powers them, the mechanics of their movement, and the innovation in their design. Prove your knowledge by building your own go kart.

Season 2: Electrifying Rides: The Inner Workings of Electric Cars

Uncover the cutting-edge technology that powers electric vehicles, from advanced batteries to innovative electric motors. Explore the principles of electric propulsion, energy storage, and efficient power management. You are going to convert the go kart you made last season into an electric go kart!

Season 3: Soaring High: The Science of Airplane Mechanics

Dive into the principles of aerodynamics, the mechanics of flight, and the intricate systems that power these amazing machines. From the physics of lift and thrust to the complexity of navigation and control systems, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of all that goes into making and operating aircraft. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical insights, this course prepares you to appreciate the marvels of aviation technology and its continuous evolution. Design/Build your own wings and test performance in a wind tunnel. Build your own RC airplane!

Season 4: Helicopter Aerodynamics and Dynamics

Learn about rotary-wing aerodynamics, the principles of helicopter flight, and the complex dynamics that differentiate helicopters from fixed-wing aircraft. Students will explore key topics such as rotor systems, lift and thrust generation in rotary wings, helicopter stability and control, and the challenges of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). The course will also cover advanced concepts such as autorotation, ground resonance, and rotor blade dynamics. You are going to build a flying helicopter and sit in the cockpit of a real helicopter.
